Day 1

Saigon to My Tho

The ship is all spruced up and ready for you. She departs for My Tho. Enjoy a refreshing ‘welcome drink’ and a briefing on the cruise. Welcome dinner. Overnight onboard.

Day 2

My Tho to Cai Bei to Vinh Long

The ship departs at the break of dawn. Begin the day with a sumptuous breakfast whilst the ship navigates delicately along the marvellous canal of Cho Gao. We arrive at My Tho. The ship drops anchor close to Thoi Son Island on the banks of a northern arm of the Mekong. My Tho, which means ‘fragrant herb’ draws thousands of tourists each year, eager to embrace the untouched beauty of the Mekong Delta. It is a prosperous city of some 100,000 inhabitants and is famous for its myriad fruit orchards, gardens and vast rice fields.

Day 3

Sa Dec to Chau Doc

The day begins with a sumptuous breakfast. You take in a short tour of Sa Dec before we transfer to Trung Vuong Primary School. We then continue our cruise to the Kien An Cung Pagoda.

We stroll around the bustling Sa Dec Market. The small city of 30,000 inhabitants is fascinating in its unspoiled beauty and authenticity.

Day 4

Vinh Xuong Border to Phnom Penh, Cambodia

The ship leaves at the break of dawn for the Vietnamese border at Vinh Xuong. Breakfast is served. Once formalities have been taken care of, we depart for Phnom Penh, with lunch served en route to the capital city. We arrive in Phnom Penh in the late afternoon. Passengers are free to enjoy the city in the evening.

Day 5

Phnom Penh

Breakfast is served before we depart for a tour of the Royal Palace, its Silver Pagoda and National Museum in the morning. We return to the ship for lunch and an in the afternoon we will visit the notorious Toul Sleng Genocide Museum and the famed Russian Market. In the evening, you are entertained by the graceful and beguiling ‘Apsara Dance’, whilst you enjoy dinner onboard.

Day 6

Phnom Penh to Kampong Tralach

Breakfast is served before a morning at leisure. We depart Phnom Penh at 11.30am, with lunch served en route to Kampong Tralach. We visit the spectacular Wat Kampong Tralach Leu Pagoda before returning to the ship. Dinner is served onboard and the ship moors overnight.

Day 7

Kampong Chhnang

At dawn, the ship sails for the port of Kampong Chhnang. Located some 56 miles northeast of Phnom Penh, the town of Kampong Chhnang is one of the largest fishing ports on the Tonlé Sap. It is famous for its fish farms and pottery. Not to be overlooked either are the products of the Thnot tree – a mellow-tasting, caramel-coloured sugar sold in large cakes and palm wine. The tree grows abundantly in the area and is one of Cambodia’s national symbols. Lunch on board as we set sail to Koh Chen.

Day 8

Siem Reap

After breakfast on board, we will transfer you by air-conditioned bus to Siem Reap.

HEALTH FORMALITIES

Vaccines are not mandatory for this trip. However, it is advisable to be up to date with all vaccinations (tetanus, polio, hepatitis A and B, diphtheria, and typhoid fever). Your doctor will prescribe an antimalarial drug if necessary. Mosquito repellent is strongly recommended.

WEATHER

The dry season lasts from December to April, but the air remains humid (temperature: 77° to 95°F). The rainy season, from May to November, can present very strong but brief storms that generally take place at the end of the afternoon.

METHODS OF PAYMENT – CURRENCY EXCHANGE

  • The currency accepted on board is the US dollar. You can pay in dollars or using an international credit/debit card (Visa and MasterCard) at the end of the cruise. In Cambodia, it is recommended to have some US dollars in cash with you. In Vietnam, if you wish to buy souvenirs, we recommend that you change about £20 or $20 into dongs on arrival.

Day 3: MY THO - CAI BE


Breakfast on board and cruise the magnificent Chao Gao canal, where you will experience the lively and vibrant canal full of ships activity, yet still feel close to the life on shore. A must-see part of the cruise and that we’re the only cruise line offering this unique passage. Arrival in My Tho.

09:00 Upon disembarking from TT2, you will board a sampan and transfer to a local ferry station. Here, you will meet your cycling team who will accompany you for the next three exciting days of cycling in the Mekong Delta. Your cycling journey will begin on small countryside paths, passing by rambutan and star apple farms. This scenic route will allow you to immerse yourself in the rural surroundings and witness the agricultural activities of the region. Along the way, you will encounter local ferries, providing an opportunity to engage in conversations with the local villagers. This will give you insights into their way of life and the unique aspects of their communities.
Your cycling route will lead you through the lush greenery of the Mekong Delta, passing by sapodilla gardens and chicken farms. This will offer you a diverse and picturesque experience as you traverse the region.
You will enjoy a delicious lunch at a simple, authentic local restaurant. The meal will feature Mekong Delta cuisine, allowing you to savor the flavors and specialties of the region. After lunch, you will continue your cycling journey and take local ferries to Tan Phong island. Along the way, you will pass through durian gardens and eventually arrive at Cai Be handicraft workshops, where traditional coconut candy, pop-rices, and other local products are made. To conclude today’s cycling adventure, you will board a sampan that will take you back to the ship. The estimated arrival time is around 04:00 PM

Jour 2 - My Tho to Cai Bei to Vinh Long


Le navire part à l'aube. Commencez la journée avec un somptueux petit déjeuner pendant que le bateau navigue délicatement le long du magnifique canal de Cho Gao. Nous arrivons à My Tho. Le navire jette l'ancre près de l'île Thoi Son sur les rives d'un bras nord du Mékong. My Tho, qui signifie 'herbe parfumée', attire chaque année des milliers de touristes, désireux de découvrir la beauté intacte du delta du Mékong. C'est une ville prospère d'environ 100 000 habitants, célèbre pour ses innombrables vergers, jardins et vastes champs de riz. Le climat y est chaud et agréable toute l'année. La campagne environnante abrite l'un des jardins les plus verdoyants du Vietnam, entouré de palmiers à noix de coco, ainsi que de bananiers et de manguiers. Visite de la pagode Vinh Trang.

Des bateaux locaux sont envoyés au navire pour vous transférer sur la terre ferme.

Nous embarquons pour une courte visite panoramique de My Tho, avec un arrêt à mi-parcours pour visiter son marché coloré. Nous retournons au quai et naviguons en bateau local jusqu'à l'île du Dragon où nous profitons d'un aperçu de la vie quotidienne.

Les passagers réembarquent sur le navire. Il quitte My Tho pour Cai Be. Un déjeuner spécial est servi avant que le navire ne jette l'ancre à Cai Be.

Vinh Long, qui signifie 'Dragon Majestueux' en vietnamien, se situe joyeusement au milieu du delta, protégé par les deux grands bras du Mékong. Le sol de Vinh Long est enrichi par les dépôts de limon, ce qui le rend idéal pour la culture des mandarines et autres agrumes. Visite du village d'artisanat où les travailleurs produisent du papier de riz, du vin de riz, du riz soufflé, etc. de manière traditionnelle.

Poursuite vers Vinh Long - une fabrique de briques et de poterie, la pépinière d'arbres fruitiers de l'île de Binh Hoa Phuoc, ainsi qu'une maison typique et une salle d'exposition des outils agricoles traditionnels.

La vie ici est centrée sur l'eau. Les maisons sont perchées de manière précaire sur des pilotis qui s'accrochent aux rives du fleuve. Les marchands ambulants vendent des bibelots depuis leurs bateaux. Des centaines de petites embarcations traversent la rivière chaque jour. La chaleur débridée des habitants fait de cette destination un lieu par excellence. Nous retournons à bord du navire et partons pour Sa Dec. Le navire jette l'ancre à Sa Dec et un délicieux dîner vous attend.

Jour 3 - De Sa Dec à Chau Doc


La journée commence par un somptueux petit déjeuner. Vous faites une courte visite de Sa Dec avant que nous ne vous transférions à l'école primaire Trung Vuong. Nous poursuivons ensuite notre croisière vers la pagode Kien An Cung.

Nous nous promenons dans le marché animé de Sa Dec. Cette petite ville de 30 000 habitants est fascinante par sa beauté préservée et son authenticité. Nous retournons à bord du navire et partons pour Chau Doc. Le déjeuner est servi à bord. Nous arrivons à Chau Doc où des bateaux locaux nous emmènent visiter des radeaux et le village Cham, foyer d'une minorité ethnique présente à la fois au Vietnam et au Cambodge.

Si le temps le permet, nous pourrons admirer le spectaculaire coucher de soleil sur la montagne Sam qui culmine à 237 mètres. Ses sanctuaires bouddhistes bien connus offrent une vue dégagée sur la mosaïque des rizières scintillantes en contrebas. À votre gauche se trouve le Cambodge, avec le Mékong à l'horizon se décomposant en une infinité de rubans argentés. En chemin, nous visitons le temple de la Dame Chua Xu et la pagode Tay An. Nous retournons à bord où le dîner est servi. Le navire mouille pour la nuit.
